Please help us fund the comprehensive treatment plan needed to keep Chanda alive.
Birkenhead, Auckland
Chanda has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 (terminal) metastatic lobular breast cancer.
First diagnosed 10 years ago, she had a mastectomy followed by further breast cancer treatments. Results showed she had beaten the cancer and last year was planning to celebrate 10 years cancer free. What happened next was the start of a devastating life-changing situation, one which we are fighting to win and need your support.
Last year Chanda suddenly became very unwell. Extensive diagnostic scans led to the catastrophic diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer, now spread throughout her spine, chest, and retroperitoneal areas (kidneys, bladder). Despite having had multiple regular scans over the past 10 yrs the cancer had remained undetected. Lobular cancer is notoriously difficult to detect, often being almost impossible to see on scans.
Chanda is now embarking on what will hopefully be a life-saving treatment plan, which is largely unfunded. The plan includes a mix of conventional and complementary treatments. One of the critical targeted medications is unfunded in NZ and costs approx $20,000 per month (Alpelisib). Complementary treatments include other medications and supplements designed to target cancer pathways through metabolic oncology and immunology. These are extraordinarily expensive and unfunded, but are already helping.
We believe this comprehensive treatment plan will be successful for Chanda and would be so grateful if you could please make a donation and share this.
Chanda is my darling sister.
Money raised will be used to pay for unfunded conventional and complementary treatments; possible travel to international oncology clinics & programmes; and living costs associated with treatments and support required while undergoing these.
