With this news, and her fighting spirit with her family beside her, Team Charnie begins the next part of this journey. We know she will have some tough days, and on the good days, she will dance in the rain and feel the sun upon her face, we will update you soon. Thank you, for all your love and support. Much love Team Charnie.

  • Celebrating the Small Victory's

Hello from Team Charnie, a wee update, I recently travelled to Rotorua with Team Charnie and accompanied Charnie to her immunotherapy, then met with her oncologist Pranshanth to celebrate the small victory, it was a very emotional trip for her and her family to get the results of her latest CT scan. The tumour on Charnie's pancreas has slightly grown he says, but with immunotherapy, this can happen. But the best news was, it HASN'T spread to any other place in her body. We celebrate the small steps, as this is a journey, it's very cruel & unfair. Seeing Charnie so well, this really is the wonder drug. I reflect for her, look at her, honestly her mind, body and soul are fighting this so so well. I always take a moment to ask Charnie what would she like me to say and it's always with humbleness and kindness, please just thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the donations and the kindness everyone has shown my family. Her oncologist said these exact words don't look at the scan look at how you are and how you are feeling, below is a photo of how she is, this explains it all, this drug as we put it in Team Charnie "Magic Dust", every 3 weeks this costs $10,000 and $28,000 every 6 weeks for the icing on the cake drug as her oncologist says. So each and every one of you that has donated thank you so much, we will update you real soon, our new saying in Team Charnie "The Magic is inside of you" the wonder drug doing its job, much love Team Charnie.

Hello everyone, just a wee update from Team Charnie. Firstly we would like to thank you all on behalf of Team Charnie for your love and continual kindness. Charnie has recently completed her 5th Keytruda and along with this has her double treatment of Ipilimumab, which is given every 6 weeks to fight her pancreatic cancer. I recently visited Charnie at home in Motuopa, to see her was amazing, her fighting spirit and her beautiful smile stayed with me.

Recently sitting in a Zoom with her oncologist, Charnie had Darren her brother by her side, her strength goes beyond words. Everyone is so proud of how incredibly strong she is, Charnie is just so humbled by all the love, support and kindness.

We will update you soon with a progress report again, so thank you to each and everyone of you for supporting Charnie along the way, she is so so loved and she can feel it, from all the kindness sprinkled everywhere. Thank you and much love Team Charnie❤️🥰🌈

  • Plan B- Team Charney update

      6 February 2023

Hello everyone, I thought I would update you on behalf of Team Charney.

Unfortunately, they were unable to perform the Whipple procedure due to the density of the tumour after 7 hours of surgery, they managed to remove lymph nodes.

Plan B, is to treat with immunotherapy now, every 3 weeks so that they can shrink the tumour down to try and have a further go at removing this at a later date.

Charney's attitude, determination strength has shone through. With Sam beside her and Sue & Brendan (Mum & Dad), we hope to have her back in Motuepa before she knows it, back to her babies and family. In the next couple of weeks, Charney will begin her cycle of immunotherapy every 3 weeks, they thank each and every one of you for your ongoing support, love and messages. Lots of love from Team Charney.

  • Miracle Drug for Chantelle - Keytruda but not funded.

      26 January 2023

Hello everyone, I just want to share an update, to let you all know, Chantelle will be treated with Immunotherapy Ketruda which they call the Miracle drug. Unfortunately, like many out there with this dreaded disease, this is not funded. What we have raised so far will pay for her first treatment today, they have decided to give Chantelle a dose before surgery to help her fight. After Chantelle's surgery on 02 February, she will then be given this miracle drug Keytruda every 3 weeks. This has a huge financial impact on them as a family, so thank you so much, for all the love and support and for helping them financially with this journey to help her fight. They are so humbled by all the messages and love and support. Thank you so much from Chantelle, Sam, Locklan, Blake and wee Milea.
