Help with her vet Bill's and surgery costs
Otago
Hi Daisy is my sons 2yr old French Bulldog,
After a recent trip to the vet it was evident she needed an urgent MRI scan to determine what was wrong
He made the trip from Dunedin to Christchurch to have the MRI with devastating results that Daisy has Degenerative lumbosacral stenosis
Meaning she has a lower disc pressing on her spinal cord causing her to have no control over her bladder and bowel and little control over her back legs
So far it has cost $3000 for MRI and consultation and a further $5000 for the operation was estimated by the vet
It has been a hard decision for my son to go ahead with the operation as he and his partner Alyssa have just welcomed my beautiful Grandaughter Billie into the family in September and he still has another year of study to get through before he achieves his goal of being a civil engineer
Daisy is part of a very loving family also having her two older dog brothers onix a 12yr old Staffy and Harley a 8yr malteze
The choices were for Daisy to have the operation done at a cost of at least $8000 to give her the best chance in life or ultimately she would be on a downhill slope over the next coming years likely ending with euthanasia
He chose today to get the operation done, she has just come out of surgery tonight and all is looking good with no complications during the surgery
This cost is all going on a personal loan that they really cant afford so any donation from you to lessen that burden would be so much appreciated however small
To help lessen the bill towards all costs for Daisy's surgery and aftercare
Daisy's progress 20 December 2018
Hi everyone, just a quick update and a big thank you to everyone who has donated towards helping Daisy. She is recovering well from surgery and is already showing small signs of improvements with her bladder control and reflexes on her back legs. Unfortunately daisy has now developed a urinary tract infection which won't be helping but we are in the process getting that cleared up. There is still a long road ahead of continuous visits to the vet aswell as physio so any money donated will go towards that. Hopefully we continue to see more improvements over the coming weeks so will keep you all updated. Once again thank you
