Hilary and her boys need a break after the very recent death of their husband and father, and the burglary of their house.
Canterbury
Hilary O'Brien-Anderson's husband died just before Christmas in hospice and then her house was burgled a couple of days ago and irreplaceable items, including pendants with her husband's fingerprints and his wedding ring, were stolen and his clothes scattered around. Her sons' piggybanks were also gone through.
The police and good folk of Chch are trying to help find these precious items, but I wondered if we could help Hilary and her boys feel secure again in their home. They had been burgled before, but there is something really reprehensible about this burglary and the timing. When they have just lost their husband and dad, they need their home to be a safe place.
I have spoken to an alarm guy about the cost of a really decent alarm which would provide Hilary some peace of mind about her home and would take one worry off her shoulders.
I have put a link to the Stuff article on the robbery just on the side bar if you would like to read more.
Hilary is a friend of a friend. I have never met her but I lost my dad when I was young and want to help this family regain some sense of security.
Money will be spent on a kick-arse alarm for Hilary's home and any extra will go to Hilary to provide a bit of a financial buffer.
