Kylie asks

Hi, my name is Kylie and I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

I work for a charity called TimeOut. We connect generous holiday homeowners all around the country who are willing to donate a stay to a person diagnosed with an incurable illness so that they can spend time together and make special memories with family & friends.

If you are interested in applying or just want to find out more, we would love to help. You can apply online at www.timeoutnz.org or email info@timeoutnz.org with any questions.

Take care, Kylie

Marie

Hi Kylie,

Sorry I haven’t acknowledged your email sooner.

I really appreciate the offer and those that supply their properties. It’s hard fundraising when you don’t have a lot of contacts and are embarrassed to ask the Few you do to share when everyone is having such a tough time.

It was also discouraging when I had one person donate a $1 and publicly suggest I sell my home which has been in the family 3 generations and my mum still lives their too and car stating my suburb. It’s heartbreaking to think they thought that way.

We ourselves have a small place I am trying to keep for a little longer to build memories with my grandsons. We also have two small dogs that go everywhere with us.

So for now their is possibly a family that could benefit more from the offer.

I will certainly remember the offer and keep the details as sadly without even a small change in our finances I am going to have to give up on the dream and accept defeat.

It’s good to see others have so much success with fundraising. I hope they do not get negative comments like the one that quite frankly at yhe moment is doing my head in.

Thank you for the work you and your team do for people like us. I can assure you it does make a difference knowing there are good people out there.

All the best perhaps I can reach out in the future.

Kind regards

Marie
