Please Help Levi Eat

  • Levi is back home and eating!!!!

      1 August 2023

We just wanted to update Levi's page one last time and thank everyone who donated to help get Levi to Austria for treatment again. The treatment worked and he has been eating for the past 8 weeks!

We cannot say thank you enough to everyone who helped to make this happen, it has completely changed Levis life and we are so excited for what the future holds now.

  • Levi is getting his treatment!!!

      2 May 2023

We are taking Levi to Austria on the 25th of May for his treatment.

We cannot express how immensely grateful we are to the well over 500 generous people who donated. Thank you for making this happen for Levi and for changing his future for the better.

We have decided to close his give a little page as we have also had a generous private donor make up the shortfall.

Thank you so much and we cannot wait to share Levi's progress with you all after the treatment.

  • Exciting News from Levi!!!

      15 April 2023

After careful consideration and lots of discussion it has been decided the best and safest option for Levi is to take him to the No Tube Eating School in Austria where Dr Wilken trained. This is because the wean will be done under full medical supervision and Levi has several medical conditions. We have been accepted onto the course happening at the end of May which means Levi can have his treatment much sooner than expected. This is both exciting and terrifying but it is going to be so good for Levi and us and give him back his right to enjoy food, his freedom to choose and his ability to participate fully in day to day life. We are also very hopeful this will help him develop communication skills. Traveling to Europe has meant we have been able to significantly reduce the costs and we have reduced our goal to match this but it also means it has greatly reduced the time we have left to raise the rest of the funds we need to make this happen. If you haven't already but have been thinking about it then please share Levi's page and help us spread the word. We are so unbelievably grateful for the generosity we have already been shown and this has been a really healing process for our family sharing our story after feeling alone for so many years. We are so close to getting Levi the help he needs now.

  • A quick update

      3 April 2023

Last week we headed north to take Levi to his medical appointments in Hamilton. His surgeon was very happy and everything is looking good. We are aiming to catch up with the Dr in Germany this week too. We are still plugging away coming up with ideas to help raise the funds we need to get Levi's his treatment. We would be greatly humbled if anyone was willing to share Levi's page as things have slowed right down. We will be getting out in the community and trying to spread the word as much as possible but we need all the help we can get. Thank you to everyone who has generously donated and shared already. You support means so much to our family and to Levi.

  • Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared so far!

      20 March 2023

Wow, we are completely blown away by the response to Levi's page and news article and all of amazing, kind and generous human beings who have donated and shared to help Levi so far. Thank you so much. We are very hopeful that we will reach our goal and be able to help Levi eat. The Drs are in high demand, so they have been scheduled to come and see us in December. We are aiming to reach our goal by September so we can confirm the final details of their visit. In the months between now and then we will be laying the ground work to prepare Levi to be weaned from the tube completely so he is ready when the Drs arrive. Thank you for the kindess you have all shown, it has had us in tears and filled our hearts with joy. xxxx

I am so happy the generous folk in NZ have rallied to your cause. May you reach your goal and allow little Levi to eat without pain.
