Please Help Me Achieve My Goal

My name is Caitlin, I'm 21 and I have lost 40kgs.

When I was 7 years old I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Autoimmune Hepatitis type 2. I was in liver failure with 80% cirrhosis and enlarged major organs and there wasn't much hope of me pulling through but with the amazing care of the Starship children's hospital and local specialists I did.

I was put on high dose Prednisone to try and control my disease, which one of the side effects are being constantly hungry and leading to weight gain. Even when my liver disease was finally in remission and I was off prednisone, I became addicted to food.

By the time I was 15, I was 97kgs.  My days were full of bullying, I constantly felt sick and didn't really have any hope. I thought I was destined to be the fat sick girl but I had a love for animals which kept me going and it wasn't long before something changed for me and I stopped eating animal products.

Over the years I have managed to lose the weight and now follow a primarily whole food plant based diet. My weight has maintained for the last 6 months, I exercise daily as much as AIH will let me and I feel so much healthier but I have been left with loose skin which is uncomfortable and stopping me from feeling the best I can be.

I would love to be able to get skin surgery,  particularly a lower body lift. The cost of surgery alone here in New Zealand is approx $30,000.

It would be amazing if anyone could help me with the last step on my journey. Any money left over will be donated to  HUHANZ.
