Raising funds to investigate other treatment, living expenses, and a more accessible home as she battles terminal metastatic colon cancer.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Kia Ora, my name is Dominique. I’m 21 years old and living in Christchurch, though I grew up in Dunedin. In April 2024, I was diagnosed with incurable colon cancer that has spread to my liver. Since then, I’ve undergone 14 rounds of chemotherapy and continue to fight.
Before my diagnosis, I was studying psychology at the University of Canterbury, but I had to pause my studies and work due to the severity of my symptoms and treatment. The oncologists have given me a life expectancy of 1 to 5 years, and I’m focused on making the most of the time I have left.
I need chemotherapy every two weeks, including FOLFIRI, Irinotecan, and Oxaliplatin. Without health insurance, my treatment options are limited, and the costs, along with living expenses, have become overwhelming for my family and me.
In the future, I may need to explore private healthcare or treatment overseas such as a Histotripsy. Your support could make this a possibility, giving me more options and a better chance.
Recently, my health has declined, and I struggle with the stairs in our small townhouse. The bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs, leaving me feeling trapped. Some days, my husband has to carry me or help move my legs due to fatigue.
Therefore, We are also now looking for a more suitable home where I can move around comfortably. Eventually, we hope to find a space where I can receive at-home hospice care if needed.
Every donation, no matter how small, means so much.
Thank you so much for your support!

The funds will help cover living costs and future consultations with overseas specialist. This will allow me to create meaningful memories, providing comfort and support during this challenging time. We would also like to raise enough for either a deposit for a suitable home or towards a better rental to help me with mobility
