Hi Shannon, we live in Helensville, my daughter Laura is coming home from uni for a week next Friday, she would love to help out milking while she is home, she has worked as a relief milker during her summer holidays for Mike Daniel who your brother will probably know. Praying for you guys. Ash
Shannon
Hey Ash,
I let my sister in law know and she’d love to pass your information on to the farm owner. If you could please email me at shannonkhales@gmail.com that would be amazing! Thanks so much for yours and Laura’s support, it means so much to our family! X

Dear Shannon please ask the doctors to look at infections that can be caused by kittens, compost or eating wild game. Beg them to look into this. Something we found out too late. Sending love and prayers.
Shannon
Thanks so much Angie, I did forward your message on to my sister in law. Michael is doing so much better and has finally started responding positively to medication. I will provide a proper update on this page tomorrow. Thanks again xx
Delwyn asks
Hi, had uro-sepsis at Christmas time, the 2nd time I’ve had it. Can you get him to be seen by Auckland City Hospital Bacterium team? I got transferred from Waitakere and North Shore hospitals and have they checked if it might have been a kidney stone?
Fight hard young man, you have got lovely family support. Apply for ACC as he had an accident that proceeded the infection, and get one of the Bacterium guys to give the details, and with the give a little money, hopefully will take some of the pressure off him, as it takes 2-3 months to get over the infection.
Shannon
Thank you so much Delwyn, I’ve forwarded your message on to my sister In law. Sorry for the late reply, what a crazy week it’s been but Michael is finally improving and things are looking positive. I’ll provide a proper update tomorrow but I just wanted to say thank you for you support on behalf of all my family, it’s meant so much to us! X
Frances asks
Hi Shannon,
I'm so sorry to hear of your brother's lovely family being in distress.
Just wondering if there is help for the farm available from Federated Farmers or similar...?
I believe there is a farming charity or similar support group for farmers in difficulties.
Sorry I don't recall their name, but they are out there.
Will donate also, because finances are important.
Hope Michael makes a good recovery, bless all Doctors and medical staff.
Shannon
Hi Frances,

It’s been such a crazy week I’m only just now having the time to respond to all these amazing messages. Thanks again for your message and support, it’s means the world to us. Michael is doing a lot better and I’ll pride a proper update tomorrow for everyone. Thanks again x
Nikki asks
Hi. I’m terribly sorry to hear about your brother and will be donating. It occurred to me though to ask if they have checked for Leptospirosis. This can cause his symptoms and, for some, bad cases such as his. Kind regards, Nikkk
Shannon
Hey Nikki, sorry for the late reply. It’s been such a crazy week. They have tested for that and we are still waiting for results. It can take 5 days but he had all the symptoms so will let you know when we hear! Xx

Hi Shannon, I am in Whangarei, so cannot provide a meal, but have you heard of https://www.bellyful.org.nz/ You can refer them and Bellyful provides a week's meals. You can email the North Shore rep nicola.cronin@bellyful.org.nz or fill out a referral form. I got it for my friend when she was recovering from hospital and a friend with a new baby.
Shannon
That’s amazing, thanks so much for that information and I will email now! Xxoo
