Please help Ollie get to Space School in 2023!

Hi,

My name is Ollie Robinson and I'm a Year 10 student in Dunedin. I have been selected for an exciting opportunity to go to Space School in America in December 2023, with a team of 16 students from around NZ.

This will be at two main locations, firstly at NASA's Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas; and then at the U.S. Space & Rocket Centre in Hunstville, Alabama. I am fundraising for the tuition, accommodation and travel costs to be able to go.

This will be a two-week expedition. It will be very intensive learning about space and earth sciences, including engineering, robotics, astronomy, and biology. We will be taught and inspired by NASA’s astronauts and engineers; get to visit the Apollo & Orion Space Mission control rooms; design technology for use in space; use the astronaut training simulators; design, build and launch rockets; and do simulated space missions.

The program is designed to encourage young people in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and maths), and create solutions for the future. The other main focus is on teaching personal development skills, as well as critical thinking and problem solving.

I have a passion for science (particularly astronomy) and I’m so excited about this opportunity. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me.
