Our beloved Mary is in the fight of her life, and it's time for her to accept some help from the many who would like to do so!
Christchurch, Canterbury
Many of you will know that our wonderful, vivacious connecter-of-communities Mary has been in the fight of a lifetime since being diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of October 2024.
Since her diagnosis, Mary has undergone 15 weeks of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the treatment has proved incredibly gruelling, as the levels of chemo have built up in her system. Of late, this has left Mary unable to get out of bed, let alone work.
Mary has an amazing village around her, and has wide network of people who would like to help in some way. By donating what you can, this would alleviate some of the financial stress Mary is under, and enable her to continue focusing on her treatment and recovery.
This doesn’t come naturally to her – as I’m sure you know, so let’s show her that despite this being incredibly uncomfortable for her personally, we are ready and willing to help in whatever way we can. This is our time to repay Mary for all those acts of kindness, connection, wisdom, moments of lunacy (in a GREAT way!) – big or small, whatever you are able to give, it would mean the world and make a tangible difference.
Mary and I connected professionally a few years back, and have since become good mates! As you do with Mary!
The money raised will alleviate some of the financial stress Mary is under while not able to work, every day bills, mortgage, groceries, transport to treatment, (all of it!) and enable her to continue focusing on her treatment and recovery.
