Funds to assist Tux with ongoing health issues and possible amputation
Mount Maunganui, Tauranga
Beautiful Tux showed up as a kitten to one of the strays about 4 months ago. He dissapeared for a while and I found him 6 weeks ago again, limping. I managed to trap him. He had aweful cat flu, could barely breathe or see,at one point, a hole in his side which I initially thought was a bullet wound, and a bad infection caused by this. A visit to the vets told me the wound was quite deep, severe cat bites, likely caused by another male Tom cat. He was given antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. We have been rehabilitating Tux for a month now and his cat flu is gone. He is super playful but still limping. Today he had xrays and it was determined that Tuxs' right shoulder, elbow and paw are broken, and his elbow on the left side is broken too. Unfortunately it has healed this way and is minimally functional. His left side will likely need ongoing treatment when he is older, and we are looking into amputation of his right leg ($1200) pending how he goes. Please please if you can contribute to Tuxs' funds, we can give him the best chance at a great life
