Kia Ora, My name is Lynsey Abbott, Founder and CEO of One Voice Community Services Trust.

I run a Self-funded organisation, we have been operating for 11 years, We operate out of my Husband's and my home in Paharakeke (Flaxmere) we provide a range of holistic support services

with a focus on tikanga Maori. We are available 24/7 to assist at risk and vulnerable

individuals and their whanau. All the work we do is Voluntary, we receive no government funding or any funding.

The assistance we provide includes but is not limited to:

 suicide prevention and self-harm support

 support for victims of sexual abuse and/or family violence

 detox and recovery support for individuals with an addiction

 respite care

 health and disability advocacy service

 missing persons announcements – support for whanau impacted

 social events and food security for the community

One Voice Community Support Workers are responsible for walk-ins, the pataka kai

(community pantry) and our Facebook page which we use to actively connect with at risk

and vulnerable individuals in need of support and to post missing persons notices/updates.

One Voice Community Support Workers regularly facilitate drop-in group sessions focusing

on mental health issues, self-harm prevention, anger management and grief support.

We provide accommodation for at risk individuals or those in need of immediate assistance.

We also put together back-to-school and winter PJ’s packs for children and we hold a

community Easter hunt and Christmas lunch every year. the work we do is Voluntary and run from our home.

My Home has carried many people over the years but sadly with the growth in many issues whanau are having in life, we need to expand.

We are needing help to buy land and to buy a home or build one on the land.

The Whare will be available to Whanau dealing with Mental Health and Addictions.

About us

Use of funds

We will use the Money donated To buy land and to build a home for people to come and heal.

If we go over the Target amount, we will use the money towards our costs to run the home. Food, power, petrol etc. If we don't reach our target, we will save it.

Fantastic project!!! Looking very much forward to visit NZ and learn as much as possible about Maori culture, history, philosophy, etc. (apart from books) as soon as Covid is under control and borders are open again…I hope with all my heart that you can reach your goal and realize your project! <3
