He took our money and ran - House left half finished

Ive been financially crippled from the main contractor I hired to build for us. This is my only place, I am living here, so I simply have to find a way to get it finished.

The build budget was always going to be tight, initially it all started looking really good. I was ecstatic and scared all rolled into one that we were finally doing it. Although we hired a registered builder, he was one well out of experience, and this was about to start costing big time. Simple mistakes started happening much to often, and they were mistakes that would end up costing big time, at times three times the materials and hours.

Then his bills came in and it started becoming very clear. He took our money and ran. No receipts given. Im left with my place half finished and a big bill to pay.

I am on a tight budget every week, and I stretch every dollar to make it work, but to be able to raise enough funds to finish building is much beyond my reach.

Building this home has gone on for around 4 years and counting, with not end yet in sight. So here I am trying to raise some funds if anyone would be kind enough to donate to help finish this project. We have just finished cladding the outside, many major big payments have been made already. We just need to raise enough to finish, or get as close as we possibly can. We need to insulate and get electricity running, gib and paint on the walls, lights in, and plumbing finished so its a useable space we can enjoy. I would feel so honored and humbled should you be able to assist, I will be forever grateful. I hope sharing this story stops this from happening to at least one other person in the future. I definitely never thought it could happen to me!
