Please help us to help NZ singers by supporting the NZ Voice Programme.
Nationwide
New Zealand is a singing nation. There is so much vocal talent in this country. Some of them want to sing better for their communities, their churches and whanau. Some want to sing more confidently and with greater skill in their choirs both local and national. Some want to enter the music profession and hope for a place on an international voice programme.
Some are voice professionals and need to keep their voice and skillsets functioning at the highest level to meet the demands of the job. Swedish mezzo soprano, Catrin Johnsson, has been teaching all sorts of NZ singers with every sort of need to master their voice and refine their performing for many years. Together with Rachel Fuller, pianist and vocal coach, they have created the NZ Voice Programme.
Following the success of two summer schools (2023,2024) they are now planning to take the next step in developing the summer school. Drawing on the strength of their international reputations and connections, they are hoping to bring the finest teachers to New Zealand to work with local talent. They believe that summer schools are important to the development of NZ talent.
They are brief and intense moments taken in the life of an artist where a musician focuses solely on their craft, while they relax in the company of like minded people and receive top tuition from master teachers. We have the skill, the expertise, the desire and passion to put it all together for the benefit of many but we lack the financial backing.
Guest tutors both national and international - includes travel, accommodation and professional fees. Venue hire costs for a residential school with the use of music teaching facilities as well as concert venue hire. Bursaries for affordable attendance.
