Here’s a little update. Jeff is a very brave dog as he’s trying to move around the place by himself. Of course we still need to spend a lot of time with him, teaching him how to avoid obstacles. We use certain words like ‘wall’ when he’s heading towards a wall, and things like ‘step up’ and ‘step down’ to go up and down the stairs. Taking him out now we use a special lease and he’s very brave stepping forwards. Just imagine, not seeing anything. But he knows he can trust us. As he’s an older dog, his smell is not the best in the world so we need to guide him towards his food bowl. But he has mapped out the place in such a way he can find the several water bowls we have for him. Seeing him move around, so brave, yes, he’s worth every cent and we’re very happy we decided to go ahead with the surgery. Now we hope that the cancer has not spread into his lymph nodes and we hope he can be with us for a long time to come. He’s just a very gentle old soul, a wonderful being. We love him very much.
I want to thank everybody who has donated towards the surgery and know we truly appreciate it. In the coming days I will try to make a small video so you can see this little trooper move around.
Hi all, thanks to all who have donated so far! Very, very much appreciated. Well, Jeff is recovering. He is eating but is still very confused and unsecure. But he's doing better every hour. It will take a lot of time and patience to get him through it.
Jeff's surgery has finished and it went well. He's still sleeping. I will make some photos later.
OK, it's surgery day. Just one last quick look at Jeff. But the vet is here and it will happen today. Hopefully he pulls through, poor little guy.
Jeff's surgery is now scheduled for coming Tuesday, August 4th.
