Bronson Chungson, a proud Samoan-Kiwi, is heading to the U20 Water Polo Champs in Croatia! He needs $11,700 any support big or small, helps.

Mangere, Auckland

We’re thrilled to announce that our son, Bronson Chungson, has been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2025 World Aquatics U20 Men's Water Polo Championships in Croatia this June! It’s such an incredible achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Water polo is considered a minority sport in New Zealand, so it doesn’t receive funding. Bronson has to cover the costs himself, which total $11,700 a significant challenge.

Bronson’s journey in water polo began when he was just 10, playing for Holy Cross Primary School, Sacred Heart College, Sea Wolf Water Polo Club, and Marist Water Polo Club. These days, he’s juggling his studies and water polo at West Valley College in San Jose, USA. He’s worked so hard to chase his dreams

A big part of what makes Bronson’s journey unique is his Samoan heritage. He’s often the only Samoan player in his teams, and it’s something he’s incredibly proud of. He loves representing his culture in a sport where diversity is rare, and this opportunity to represent both New Zealand and his Samoan roots on the world stage is something truly special.

As his parents, we’re dedicated to supporting Bronson’s passion and making this dream a reality. That’s why we’ve set up this “Givealittle” page to ask for help in raising funds to cover the costs of this exciting opportunity. Every contribution, no matter the size, would mean so much to Bronson and us.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping Bronson take his Samoan pride and Kiwi spirit to the world!

Use of funds

The $11,700 covers flights, transport, accommodation, food, uniforms, training camp, world aquatic organisation fees and travel insurance. Its everything needed for smooth travel, preparation and participation in the World Champs.
