End of life funding has run out for rare degenerative brain disease

My husband's beautiful Aunty, Jo Oorschot got diagnosed late last year with Creutzfeldt- Jakobs disease. A rare degenerative brain disorder, it effects one in a million and leads to dementia then death. There is no known cure for this cruel disease.

Jo a loving wife, mother and grandmother has spent her life always giving and caring for others. A passionate teacher aid from 1988 to 2022 when she retired. Cared for her elderly parents when their health declined and set up community activities within their retirement village. This women is an amazing, strong, caring and driven human being who's dreams of an active retirement at 67, traveling with her husband (Nick) in their caravan has all been taken away from her in just a few months!

With Jo's rapid decline from this disease it has put her into palliative hospitalized level of care costing up to $7000 a month. Funding for end of life was granted but this was only for 3 months, that funding has nearly come to an end causing a shadow over the family. Now as we stand at an intersection of compassion and necessity I ask for any help to fund the rest of her care to ensure that Jo's last chapter is one of comfort and dignity.
