Hi all,

We are Bruno and Melanie Butler - A passionate wildlife conservation couple based in Wellington, New Zealand.

Bruno is a New Zealand Army veteran who served 10 years with the Royal New Zealand Engineers; a graduate of the Royal Military College - Duntroon in Australia and with operational experience in the Middle East. Although out of service now, he still has a massive desire to support the greater good in this world, and stand up and fight for those who cannot do so for themselves. Dovetailing this passion with his military training experience in Iraq, along with other specialist skill sets, he plans to help train and increase the operational effectiveness of anti-poaching rangers on the ground in Africa with Veterans for Wildlife.

Melanie too is a passionate animal conservationist and a huge advocate for the ethical and sustainable use of Palm Oil in our world. Melanie wants to help raise funds for Care for Wild, the worlds largest orphan Rhino sanctuary. Young animals, particularly Rhinos are far too often orphaned due to the senseless murder of their parents. Young Rhinos orphaned in the wild, rarely survive unless they are rescued and nurtured in a secure environment where they can grow, roam free and eventually be released back into the wild.

Bruno plans to support Veterans for Wildlife for 4 weeks over this 2019/2020 Christmas period, while Melanie keeps the home fires burning and supporting from abroad.

The statistics are absolutely gut-wrenching and chill you to the core as a human being. Every 8 hours a Rhino is butchered for its ivory horn, which on the black markets is more expensive than gold or cocaine, gram for gram. Elephants too are hunted for their skin and ivory tusks, and along with encroachment issues on to expanding farmlands (as they try to survive in a continually urbanized world) - One is murdered every 15 minutes.

In order to play their part and give back to a cause they truly believe in, they are looking to raise money for twofold:

Firstly, to support Veteran's for Wildlife

Secondly, to support Care for Wild.

SO! What else are we going to do to draw attention and raise funds for these amazing causes?!

(Other than point out the most depressing statistics...)

Well for starters, for every $1 raised in support, Bruno will conduct (1) Push/Press Up ...!!

Yes, you read that correctly (*Sigh)!! ... and Mel will sub in to support this crazy physical endeavour :)

This event will take place at City Fitness in Lower Hutt on Saturday the 14th of September, 0900h - 1100h, so come on down and show your support and watch Bruno suffer.

Nothing can match the pain that these animals go through whilst they are being butchered for their body parts or the damage it does to the newly created orphans - but this will be their way of recognising this cruelty - by inflicting some pain on their own bodies.

Any support would be absolutely amazing and greatly appreciated!

Stay tuned to follow our journey!

Thank you so much for your time.

Warm regards,

Bruno and Melanie Butler

**100% of funds raised will be donated to charity**
