A group effort to smash our final goal.

Hornby, Christchurch

We are a group of young people that volunteered for the yearlong Project K journey

This journey pushed us right out of our comfort zones spending 17 days in the wilderness, travelling across river and mountains using only our legs. Day by day making our way back to Hornby High school. We learnt an incredible amount about resilience during this trip

Since then, we have paired up with a volunteer mentor, and the aim was to keep pushing us to work towards goals. Some goals were about achieving our NCEA's, some were about reach sporting and physical goals, and a few were about overcoming our fear of heights. We have fundraised already to achieve these goals and in December, 3 of us will jumping off the bridge in Hanmer Springs

We have learnt so much

The final idea that we threw together was that it would be great if we could all go to Hanmer together to support those that are jumping off the bridge. The Project K journey ends on December 2nd and this would be a great way to finish the journey together

This idea came up very last minute and time is against us. We are still fundraising at the minute through other means, our last day to submit our fundraising is the 11th of this month, and we will continue to do what we can

The costs to get us too and from Hanmer is still quite lofty, we figured if all of us share this through are social media network and if each of us managed to get around $60 from our social networks we would smash our goal

Anything you contribute is greatly appreciated

Smashing our final goal as a team!  27 November 2025

We started Project K as a group, and we would like to complete the final step as a group.

In total we have raised over $2000 for each of us to complete our various goals. 4 people will be completed a bungee jump, 1 person will be skydiving, another person will be flying a plane and various other goals have already been smashed.

Project K is hard, we have completed a 19-day wilderness journey, 9 months of menotring, a comunity challenge and a comunity project. It has taught us that anything worth doing comes with a challenge, the reward comes after completing the challenge. It's the fact that something is hard that gives the greatest satisfcation once completed.

On the 7th of december the final goal to challenge their fear of heights will be completed by throwing themsleves of the bridge at Hanmer Bungee.

We are still fundraising but with only a week left we may not acheive the final goal as a group.

This give a little funding page will help us so that we can get there and back as a group and be there to cheer and support our teammates as they take their final step on Project K.

Thank you for anything you can do.
