I am a solo Mum to my 5 year old son Taimana. I step foot in the Boxing ring on May 3rd for Ōtepoti Boxing Club, PUNCH WITH PURPOSE 4 Corporate Charity Event. I am currently training in a hearty 10 week camp alongside a group of 24 Corporates, who have also been selected to glove up for a charity close to their hearts.
I have chosen to support Family Works Southland as when i felt i had no one in my corner, i had them. I self referred & completed two parenting courses last year that helped strengthen my confidence & parenting skills. This journey was by far a big leap forward for this duo. The tutors who guided me were encouraging, genuine, supportive & believed in my abilities.
Family Works also offer a Big Buddy Program. I have found Taimana a Big Buddy myself, who happens to be a boxing coach. This has been such a positive move forward, he just loves spending quality time with his Big Buddy!
My goal is to get the word out there for both the FREE Parenting Course & Big Buddy Program. Don't struggle alone, build a network, a solid foundation, a village, back your abilities and commit to the support that is on offer.
