Quality of life for Gail
A cough assist machine is needed to help clear the lungs as Gail is no longer able to cough on her own.

Gail was diagnosed with mnd march 2020. For the most part her progression has been slow and steady but lately it seems to be affecting her respiratory system. We have a village of people on the sidelines but I am her caregiver and it pains me to know theres a machine out there designed to help gail cough after her body has let her down and yet we are not allowed to trial one through the DHB. The cough assist clears the lungs and reduces the risk of lung infections and pnemonia. Pnemonia at this stage of Gail's journey can kill her. We just want quality of life. Its the only thing we were promised and it's the only thing we fight for. I want to give gails lungs a chance to rest
Use of funds
Ideally it will be used for a cough assist machine, if it doesnt work out for us and gail does pass before money raised or too weak to be able to use it we will donate the money to someone else saving for a machine themselves.
