I am fundraising for Mvumi School Trust, to support the set up of two science labs which I will physically contribute to in my time there.

Volunteering in Africa has always been the focus of planning my gap year, and I spent a lot of time looking for a place that fits. Mvumi School Trust is the perfect fit as all funds go to the school or allowing students to attend it, it allows me to volunteer there doing work that really aids their day-to-day running and it is run by a lovely and trusted group of people. Instead of paying a volunteer fee, Mvumi School Trust ask volunteers to fundraise for the trust, hence this page.
The Trust is run by a small group of volunteers, which support the teachers and students DCT Mvumi Secondary School, in order to give them the best education possible. It relies on donations and volunteers to continue to contribute to the school. The Trust supports the school in many ways including
- providing around 110 student bursaries and scholarships
- sending gap year students and volunteers to help in various ways around the school
- supplying much-needed equipment
- sponsoring blind, visually impaired and albino students
- helping to maintain and develop school buildings
I am very excited to be volunteering there and supporting the set-up of two science laboratories whilst I am over there. I would love it if you could support me in supporting the Mvumi Trust in anyway you can!
In September/October, I will spend 4 weeks volunteering at DCT Mvumi Secondary School in Tanzania, for the Mvumi School Trust http://mvumischooltrust.org.uk
These funds will contribute to the completion of the two science laboratories (windows to keep the dust out, soffit completion and final coats of paint) and provide basic teaching equipment for the two science laboratories.
