Raising funds for Cancer treating drug

I was diagnosed with a 6cm Sarcoma tumor growing beside my heart in March 2023.

After numerous stop starts as to whether to operate to remove this tumor, which was growing at the rate of 1cm per month, in July 2023 it was decided to try radiation therapy for 5 weeks.

The tumor shrunk from 10cm (size after 4 months growth) to 4.9cm, but new (tiny) nodules on my lungs, meant surgical removal of the tumor was no longer possible. Chemotherapy was decided to be the next course of action. Unfortunately my heart did not like all the fluids associated with the chemotherapy and I ended up with Acute Pulmonary Oedema. Tauranga Hospital Medical Professionals were amazing and helped me through this

I saw the Oncology Sarcoma Specialists in Tauranga earlier this September, and the hospital scan showed the tumor was still shrinking but we could not see the small nodules in my lungs because of the fluid

I was recommended a treatment course of Pazopanib (Volrient)

I have responded well to treatment so far and the specialist thinks i will continue to respond with this treatment

This drug is not funded by Pharmac

The cost of this medication is $1746 per 30 x 200mg tablets. The daily dose is 800mg (ie, 4 tablets), so monthly cost is $6984.

I have limited options to fund this treatment myself and I am reaching out to the community for support

This treatment would mean a chance to live my life and enjoy my family and friends and stay active with my volunteer work
