  • Candlelit Remembrance Walk for Rami

    Members of Pinehaven Playcentre are organising a Candlelit Remembrance Walk for local man, Rami Hamidah, tragically killed crossing SH2 last month. Details of the event are https://www.facebook.com/events/1428925600532369/?active_tab=about.

    On the night, a petition will also be circulated requesting the construction of an overbridge (this will be submitted to Upper Hutt City Council and NZTA) to make the Totara Park / SH2 pedestrian crossing a SAFER place.

  • Message from Abeer

    The extended Hamidah family moved to New Zealand from Kuwait in January 2016, to seek a new life for their children. Their dream was to build a peaceful, non-political life for themselves, in a country that values education and healthcare. Rami wanted to live in a country that deserved his hard working contribution.

    Givealittle donations will be used to bring Abeer’s mother out from Kuwait for further family support, and to help out with everyday bills while they get their heads around their new situation. Abeer is hopeful that there will be enough money to fund an English language course so that her job prospects and family's future are brighter.

    Abeer would like to highlight the dangers of crossing busy intersections, such as the SH2/Totara Park junction. She has a simple message – please take more care.

  • In two days

    We are just astound at the generosity of the people who have donated, we didn't think or imagine it would be this much.

    alhamdulillah (all praises to allah).

    We had the intentions of this page to stay open until next month, but seems just in two days just over one thousand three hundred has been raised.

    We will shorten the date of this page when donations stop coming in, that will be after the last donation made, of about a week or two (7-14days).

    Again to ALL who have given from their hearts we thank you from the bottom of our heart, helping people who need the most is love for our fellow human beings, regardless of race, color and even religion. نحبكم فى اللة translate to, we love you for the sake of allah swt.

      Salam. Please do not shorten the expiry date. Let people donate. The amount of $7k+ is not a lot of money for the young family of 4. Wassalam.
