The book review outline:
Title: Hamilton Group Riding for the Disabled-the development and growth from the inception of the Waikato Equestrian Centre's Therapuetic Riding Group.
Author: Bronwyn Powell
Bronwyn Powell (the author) realised that there was no record of how the HGRDA started and after researching the history through the archives of the Waikato Combined Equestrian Group(Inc) and talking to people involved in setting up the Waikato Equestrian Centre, decided to write the book herself as it would be a shame to lose all this valuable history. It contains many photos of horses and riders that have ridden over the years and it is encouraging to see the happiness and progress of these children who have been fortunate enough to be involved in the programme.
Author's purpose is to entertain and record history:
The Author has done an excellent job in collating all the material into this book. Bronwyn has captured the very essence of the aims and objectives of the Hamilton Group's Riding for the Disabled.
I found the book to be interesting and informative and I would recommend anyone interested in RDA to read this book.
The importance of this book in its field:
The book is an important document as it brings to the attention accurate details for anyone interested in how HGRDA started at the Waikato Equestrian Centre and the reasons it was decided to become a separate group.
Who is the intended audience:
All Equestrian people and anyone interested in how the HGRDA started at the Waikato Equestrian Centre.
