    We will look to close this page off in a week or two, after we post an update as to where Rebecca is at, but please do not gift any more money

    Hi all - Thanks again for all the support that's been flooding in, including those that have given to us directly as well. Rebecca appears to be still losing weight despite a regular and balanced nutritional regime and with support from a dietitian. Rebecca is having a Medical Consultant review on Tuesday this coming week. Rebecca appears to have better tolerance to light, even though she wears eye shades 24/7- we can definitely have more light entering her room, without her commenting on it. We have had input too from a respected Audiologist in AKL who has provided guidance on helping Rebecca's sensitivity to sound, which still remains even with ear plugs being worn- such is her extreme sensitivity

      So glad to hear that Rebecca’s sensitivity to light has improved. Good luck for Tuesday. My daughter has been unwell for the last 3 years and we are still looking for answers as to why? She also 22. They will get better - never lose hope. I think of you all often ❤️❤️

    Anne, Grace and I just want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed so far in supporting Rebecca. Thankyou too, to those who have shared their personal stories and to those who have given words of support, encouragement and hope. It is amazing as to how many people there are, who are living life with significant challenges and struggles, that for the most part don't get heard in a wider setting like this. Much aroha to all

      No 22 year old should have to go through this. I have a daughter the same age. I can only strongly urge you to try alternative therapies such as homeopathy and acupuncture. There won't be miracles but I have seen miracles with these types of treatments on people and animals. But it needs to be ongoing and consistently administered.

      Was traveling through NZ from the US and came across this heart breaking story. Please please look into this drug (low dose naltrexone). It helps many with immune system related illnesses and since the patent ran out a long time ago, it isn't marketed. Also, treatment for immune system issues is an off label use. The dose is micro. It's inexpensive and has few to no side effects.

      Rebecca is already on low dose Naltroxene :-)

      We are comfortable looking at alternative treatments/therapies providing there is clear/compelling/considerable evidence that they are appropriate and have a reasonable chance of having a positive effect for our daughter. There is a lot of misinformation, marketing spin and 'snake oil' 'solutions' out there which play on people with a genuine and desperate need to find miracle cures and weigh heavily with an emotional bias - we are mindful too, that with anything we look to do, it may possibly have a negative effect and/or limit Rebecca's energy to try a treatment/therapy at a future date - so we will continue to do our own research and choose the most likely beneficial drug(s), treatment/therapy etc based around that - Thankyou for your opinions
