Rebuilding homes, restoring hope

While travelling through rural Flores, Indonesia, we met families who welcomed us with incredible warmth and kindness. We have stayed in contact with them and have seen first-hand the difficult conditions they are living in.

Several of their homes have been badly damaged and need major repairs or rebuilding. For families living on very modest incomes, the cost of building materials and labour is simply beyond what they can afford.

We are organising this fundraiser on their behalf because we want to help give these families safe, secure and weatherproof homes.

Our goal of NZ$35,000 may sound like a lot, but it is for several families and will be used for essential building materials and labour, including roofing, walls, floors and other urgent repairs. Every dollar will contribute towards making these homes safer and more habitable.

We don't expect anyone to fund a whole house. If many people give what they can, even $20 or $50, those small donations can add up to something life-changing.

These families showed us kindness and hospitality when they had very little to give. This is our opportunity to give something back.
