Rebuilding a Piha Icon

We are looking for donations to help rebuild a true Piha Icon - the Piha Fish & Chip shop tragically taken from us by arson.

Auckland

On May 7, 2017 the Piha Fish & Chip shop owned by the May family since the early 70's was burnt to the ground. Famous for burgers, fish & chips and ice creams, it has been an institution since 1958 to both locals and visitors alike. We now have just a husk of the building left - just the original masonry walls, everything else has gone. #rebuildingapihaicon #pihaicon

I am heading up the rebuild for my mother who owns the property at 25 Marine Parade South, Piha.

Use of funds

Funds will go straight into the rebuild of the building. So far we have spent 20k on demolition and asbestos removal. Due to unforseen circumstances we have no insurance, so every penny gifted will go towards the rebuild.
