Remembering a Precious Wife & Mother, Riyo
Support Masa & his two children after the sudden loss of his wife Riyo

Masanori, Riyo and their two children moved to New Zealand 18 months ago from Japan to start their lives in this beautiful country.
On September 19th, Riyo became very unwell. She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and placed in an induced coma. After many tests, Masa received the devastating news that his wife had been diagnosed with acute leukaemia, which was at an advanced stage, and there was nothing that could be done to treat her. The family spent time with her in her final days, but she did not come out of the coma.
The news came as a overwhelming shock to Masa, their family and everyone who knew and loved Riyo. Her illness progressed so suddenly, leaving the family with little time to process the heartbreaking reality of what was happening.
On September 29th, Riyo sadly passed away with her family by her side. This has been an incredibly difficult time for them. Riyo leaves behind two beautiful children, aged 4 and 7, and her loving husband, Masa.
In the space of just ten days, their world was turned upside down.
