Remembering and Acknowledging Phillis Symons

  • Unveiling

    On behalf of the Friends of Karori Cemetery and family representatives, we would like to invite you to attend the headstone unveiling for Phillis Symons, which will be held on Saturday 14th March at 2pm.

    It will be an informal unveiling. Family representatives will be there, and we wanted to invite the people who helped make this memorial a reality by generously donating.

    We will have flowers on site if you wish to place a flower on her grave. We are following a no plastic flower guideline for environmental reasons in the cemetery.

    We will be meeting on the roadside towards the Peter Fraser memorial, If you follow the road through the cemetery on the left path you will find us. We will have friends’ members helping guide visitors to the meeting place.

    On behalf of the family and the Friends of Karori Cemetery, thank you very much for the donations towards the headstone and surround for Phillis and her mother. I am pleased to say that we reached our goal, and everything has been completed at the cemetery. We are working with the family on an unveiling date, we will keep everyone updated on this via our facebook page.

  • Reducing the Goal amount

    The total cost of the headstone and surrounds is $6800. The Family and the Friends of Karori Cemetery are contributing towards the project.
