Raising$2738 for a memorial bench as a gesture of remembering Captain Sang and his contribution towards our Vietnamese tennis community.

Wellington

Kia Ora/Than gui,

If you have opened up this page, you might have met and known Captain Sang before he left us, or you might have heard about his great stories and contribution he made towards our little Vietnamese community.

This page is created to raise the fund needed for purchasing and maintaining a memorial bench as a gesture of remembering Captain Sang and his contribution to our Vietnamese tennis community and the wider Vietnamese community in Wellington in general. Our target is to raise $2738 in 3 months in order to purchase, install, and maintain this memorial bench. Donors have the option to create their linked donation pages that raise fund towards our campaign to help us meet the targeted fund quicker. This means that if 20 people create a supporting fund raising page that links to our campaign, each will raise $136.9 in 3 months. If you'd like to do this please kindly let us know, we really appreciate this.

As you may have known, Captain Sang was greatly missed for his sense of humour, dedication, and extensive contribution to this Wellington's community who loves tennis. Personally, I still remember him helping me choose and pick my very first car from the Capital City Car dealer, picking me and my friends up from their homes and railway stations to the tennis court, dropping us off to the Sunday market and so much more fond memories. I guarantee everyone who knows Captain will have a story about him and each was very special and whole-hearted. Captain left us very suddenly and we could not believe it, and still feel his spirit with us at the tennis court.

To celebrate Captain's dedication and remember all of his work, the Vietnamese Tennis Club in Wellington has asked and successfully received the approval from the Wellington City Council and the Victoria University of Wellington, to have a memorial bench just outside of the Salamanca Road's tennis court where he used to play every single weekend when he was still around. Our tennis club is still playing at this court every single weekend and it will be so nice to have this symbolic bench to remind us of him and his tremendous dedication to the sport and our community.

All the fund raised will be used for purchasing the bench, and maintaining it. We created this page so that not only the Wellington/New Zealand friends and acquaintance can donate, but also the rest of the world who has a Visa/Credit Card and wish to contribute to make this cause happen. We will keep all donors updated with how the money is going to be used and everything is transparent. Every single donation counts, small or big, towards a great cause of having a memorial symbol for Captain Sang. Thank you so much for reading and contributing to this page, we greatly appreciate your donations and thoughts towards Captain Sang. If you have any questions or encounter any difficulties in contributing, please kindly let us know and we will respond as soon as we can. You are more than welcome to contact Duc Nguyen (duc.nguyennz@gmail.com) or Ha Vo (hanganphuc1997@gmail.com) if you come across any enquiries.

With best regards,

Vietnamese Tennis Club in Wellington

Dear all, one important update I need to make is that funds will be paid to myself since I've been appointed to receive them and because the Vietnamese Tennis Club in Wellington does not have a bank account. We will keep you posted of how the fund will be used. Much appreciated!
