Remembering Jupiter

Earlier this year my dear friend Danielle found out that she was pregnant. This was both exciting and scary as Danielle has suffered baby loss previously. This pregnancy was also high risk and for much of it, Danielle was on bed rest. She spent several weeks in hospital.

On the 17th of October Jupiter Rain was born prematurely at only 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed only 730g.

He was strong and was doing well until the morning of the 19th.

He developed bleeds in his lungs and later his brain. Though Doctors and Nurses worked hard to save him, his oxygen levels dropped to just 10%. Danielle was advised that he would not survive. She could leave him on the ventilator or hold him, so Jupiter's Mummy held him whilst he passed.

His Mummy Danielle, friends and family are devastated by the loss of baby Jupiter. Everyone was so hopeful for his birth after Danielle had experienced three other losses of Jupiter's siblings; Winter, River and Jasper.
