The repatriation of Kane Te Tai
Nationwide
On the 20th of March 2023 whilst serving the people of Ukraine our son Kane Te Tai lost his life in battle. Kane was a very passionate man and believed in serving those in need.
His passion for service of others started when he joined the New Zealand Army as a rifleman. Kane was posted to 2nd 1st Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment and served in Afghanistan supporting New Zealand's mission to rebuild Afghanistan.
Kane was a man of selfless service and this has been recently seen in the media worldwide where he saved a Ukrainian man thought to have been killed a week before Kane was killed leading a reconnaissance team.
Our son leaves his legacy. He laid his life down for his fellow man.
Our goal is to raise $65,000 to cover the logistics, administration and funeral costs. Should there be surplus a trust will be set up for his daughter.
Combined fundraisers we have reached our goal 28 March 2023
