Donate to help achieve a dream of mine to represent New Zealand in gymnastics internationally.
Southland
I am Lewis Thomson, a 17 year old gymnast, living in Invercargill. I have been training in gymnastics for ten years, competing nationally for Southland as their top gymnast.
Coming from a smaller gymnastics community, the thought of ever getting to an international level has been hard to imagine but has always been a dream of mine. This year has been the most successful year in terms of gymnastics for me as I placed well at all competitions, including a gold at nationals. Because of my success this year, I was able to attain a spot on the New Zealand gymnastics team competing in two international competitions in Texas!
Myself representing New Zealand for gymnastics will also help grow our small mens gymnastics community down south. I will be the first male gymnast from Southland to represent New Zealand and it will help inspire those who I coach and also train with, it also means I can get a poster on the Invercargill Gymnastics Club wall :)
The trip will be roughly $6,000. I do not have this kind of money and won't be able to earn enough in time as I will be spending a lot of time training to be at the best of my ability for New Zealand. I will still be working as much as I can, whenever I have the spare time.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated, no matter what size. Thank you for helping me achieve a personal dream and broaden the male gymnastics community!
The money will be spent on flights to Dallas and Houston, where the two competitions will be held, food, accommodation, uniform and competition entries. Any excess funds will go to new training equipment.
