Restore our Foreshore - Onehunga Foreshore Restoration

  • Let the Local Board know we want action

      5 March 2020

Hi folks, it would be really great if you all go on to the Tamaki Maungakiekie ideas page and click on the hearts beside the ideas that you like. Currently no one seems to be liking the ideas, and if we really want the local board to take notice we need the hearts to get counters beside them.

It is not difficult, simply go to this page https://akhaveyoursay.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/, register, select our local board, and then select to view all ideas (there are currently 18 of them), and click the hearts beside the ideas you like. Also you can add comments to these, and add your own ideas if not already on the board.

Our fund raiser is currently at a bit of a standstill, so if you can promote this givealittle page on your own Facebook pages that would be great. And please tick the hearts on the ideas that support the foreshore restoration.

  • East West Link delayed

      31 January 2020

Recent news shows we have had a reprieve on the restart of the East West Link. How long this may last is unknown. We must get the ONF removed before the NZTA get the green light on this project, as only if the ONF no longer exists can sensible discussions be held regarding the future restoration of our foreshore. So far we have reached 5% of our goal to fund a private plan change. What with Christmas, then people donating to bigger causes, like Australia's burning, our fund has not moved much these last two months. If you can promote this to your own networks, Facebook pages, etc, it would be really helpful. The current state is as pictured. In the meantime we continue to canvas the MTLB for support in this action.

  • We've doubled last month's total!

      1 December 2019

Yeah, we are well on the way with our fundraising efforts. At the end of November we have doubled our October total. This is great to see but we need more donations if we are to achieve the goal of restoring Onehunga's foreshore. Please share the give-a-little page with friends and family on your own facebook pages. Those that share the vision, as you do, we hope will make a Christmas present donation to this cause. As you can see by the chart we still have a long way to go, but TOES wish to acknowledge you all for your contribution and at the same time wish you all a Merry Christmas. Thanks.

Thank you everyone, today we passed the first $1000 milestone on our way to achieving our goal. A big thank you to you all for getting us this far. Please continue your efforts to promote this cause. Onehunga is long overdue this restoration, and we need it all the more so that Auckland Council takes notice that the Manukau is a treasure not a dumping ground.

Great news, we have reached the end of our first month of the campaign and are just shy of our first $1000 to the cause. Thank you all for your generosity. Please consider sharing this campaign with friends, to your Facebook friends list, and to pages you visit. The more like minded individuals we can find the quicker we can achieve our goal. Thanks again. The TOES team.
