Reuben is such a neat guy with so much life to live and alongside his wife Jenn and daughter Abby! Let’s support them in anyway we can x x
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
On 15th Sep, Reuben’s health suddenly & dramatically declined. Jenn found Reuben vomiting blood & incoherent. Reuben was rushed to Hospital and admitted into ICU. Doctors discovered multiple blood clots and severe internal bleeding. Reuben’s left lower lung had died and his body was trying to dispose of it (causing the blood to come up) Since that day, Reuben has deteriorated significantly & has experienced organ failure & seizure like episode’s. He is incredibly lucky to be alive. Doctors do not know what has caused this. Reuben has spent 3 months in hospital with 4 short stints at home before being urgently re admitted due to serious complications. He has had a filter inserted to help prevent further clotting & has received countless infusions & treatments. The left side of Reuben’s heart was found to be severely damaged and they quickly discovered the right side was also affected, there is no mechanical fix, the only option is a heart transplant. He must undergo extensive testing & assessments in Auckland to see if he qualifies. Sadly he may not even be accepted which therefore leaves the option of palliative care. Reuben explained this in his own way of “my heart will just eventually stop or give way and it doesn’t get any better than this” Reuben & Jenn would appreciate any support, life really can change in an instant, please hug your loved ones tight, with love & Thank you, Reuben, Jenn and Abby x x
Jenn and Reuben are life long friends of mine, Reuben was also there for me when I was very sick with guillain Barre syndrome. A family that always help others and now it’s their turn x x
Supporting Reuben, Jenn and Abby with living costs during this incredibly difficult time, your kindness will help ease the financial pressure so Jenn can remain by Reuben’s side & their focus can stay where it belongs (on family, healing & hope) x x
