Reuniting with Paxton

Thanks for taking the time to view my cause. Im currently looking to raise $1582 to get my much loved and missed dog Paxton over here from Australia. Currently I have saved $1100, the total cost of injections, vet checks, inoculations and flight will come to $2682 (NZD)

A little about Paxton: Paxton is a Miniature Dachshund, he has the best personality that you could ask for in a best friend. He's Funny, caring, handsome, outgoing, social, loyal, talented (see video for sausage roll), and is always happy and ready to make you happy.

However he hasn't been dealt the best cards. Earlier this year Paxton showed signs of an allergic reaction to something unknown, with that I took him straight to the Vet to get looked at. They had suggested it was an allergy, gave him his meds and sent us on our merry way. Unfortunately it wasn't an allergy. It turned out that Paxton has a rare disease called Puppy Strangles, this is a heightened immune system, so high that it has actually broken it down. Through intense treatment of cortisone medication and weekly Vet visit's we have finally been able to overcome this disease, which has been amazing.

As all of this has been going on, I was going through quite a tough time dealing with Mental Illness overseas in Australia.

I was diagnosed Bipolar in Australia at the start of the year and started seeing a psychologist, as seeing the psychologist wasn't really helping we decided to see a psychiatrist next. After having the Psychiatrist consultation at $440 per session it was really starting to put pressure on my financial state. Thats when I decided I needed to be around my Family and come back home. I have been back in NZ for 3 weeks now.

Things have been great since I have been back in NZ and the Mental Health services here at home have been amazing toward me thus far. I have spoken to my psychiatrist about how much I miss Paxton and that the only reason I would be going back to Australia is for him. Thats when we decided "Why can't I get Paxton here?"

If Paxton was here Life would be great.

Being back in New Zealand permanantly seems to be the right decision, there is only one thing missing from complete happiness and that is to be reunited with my best friend.
