    This will be the final update on the page. I'd like to send one last tremendous thank you to all who helped contribute and promote the givealittle cause to get Michael Holland to his brothers funeral. Mike is now safely back in NZ after a huge trip (flight delays and all) and you'll notice some new posts on Facebook - I know you all missed the micro-essays he writes. I thought it best not to highlight Mike's being out of the country on this open forum to ensure he doesn't come back to a burgled property - but now he's been and returned we're good to celebrate his homecoming. You are all very generous and I'm so proud to see such a coming together of friends to ensure this was possible.

  • Flights are Booked

    Dear Friends and Family of Mike. Tonights announcement would not be possible without each and every one of you. Michael is now booked to fly to Canada and I have it on good authority that he is likely to take the service on Saturday. Mike is now aware of the existence of this page and is in a relative state of shock. This morning travel to Patrick's funeral was not even a thought of possibility. As I have mentioned to a few people in the past 2 days - this is just something that had to happen. I would like to express how sincerely grateful I am to all contributors who made it so. I do wish the circumstances were different... To Ursula and Julian Holland; you are in our thoughts and prayers. Hold on tight and share the fond memories of your father. Please do reach out if you need anything.

  • We've let Mike know

    Just to let you all know that I have spoken with Mike this morning and he is overwhelmed by the generosity. My brilliant sister, Rebekah, will be helping to arrange flights and we are looking to be in a very good position to have Mike in Canada for Saturday.

  • Confirmed Funeral Date

    Firstly, thank you so much to those who have contributed. You are amazingly generous and I seriously cannot thank you enough. After making contact with Michael's nephew in Canada I have a confirmed date for Patrick's funeral - 28 June (ie. this Saturday). I am more than confident we can make this happen and get Mike there.
