"Support when you need it"
Wellington
Have you ever needed help after something has happened at work, you looked around when you felt vulnerable and no one was there you could talk to?
Have you needed to run outside or into the bathroom to have a cry because someone bullied you at work?
Unions are great when things get to a stage of needing to potentially go to employment court
Councillors are fantastic when you can meet with them ( often waiting a week ) and are not limited to 3 funded visits as well as worried about your confidentiality
"New Zealand has the second highest rate of Workplace bullying and Harassment in the developed world!" - STUFF
"1 in 5 New Zealanders feel bullied in the workplace"
"1 in 6 New Zealanders have a diagnosis of a Mental health condition" (2017-2018)
"Most of those that have ended their own lives have been those in Employment (Wellington region)"
I am very familiar with what it is like to feel stressed or distressed. Whether it is as a result of bullying in the workplace, or it is by fellow colleagues or employers. If you are just finding it hard to cope in any way we are here to listen and being in your situation myself I can make recommendations as well and understand you from a Mental health peer perspective. We can take you to see your union and counselling if you need the transport. We listen coach, mentor you by visiting you, video calling, texting and email. we are here for you to reach out to.
Our service is brand new! we are not funded by any government organisation ( I have tried! ) and so we need help in any way shape of form to make our service work for many people that need it most.
