Rise Above, Cebu

We had the privilege of spending some time with Rise Above and were really impressed with the work that they are doing in the Philippines. While teaching mothers a trade, they feed school children, bath and clothe preschoolers and look after them while the mothers are being taught a trade by the foundation. This is a small day care centre where the children are very well looked after. They run dental programs where they give free dental care and educate both children and adults in dental health and life skills eg building vege gardens for families who can't afford to feed their children.

Rise Above are looking for people to sponsor children in their education program, which involves food, clothes, school and books at approximately $40 per month (US$30).

They also need the next few months rental, water and electricity for their care centre and would like to give the families that they work with Christmas presents.

Any money that we can give them will go a long way.
