Rise Nepal are a group of young-leaders committed to rebuilding a better country for their future!
Canterbury
Rise Nepal was established with the help of the Asia/Pacific Alliance for Peace and Development, and New Zealand's Sam Johnson. Over 50 local volunteer leaders are supported by the Global Peace Foundation, Byond Disaster Relief and everyday volunteers.
Each day 'Rise Nepal' build 15-20 temporary shelters in least developed areas away from Kathmandu for women, children and disabled persons who suffer the most.
But they need help. A shelter costs $150 to build, and the need is urgent.
Please help us build 1000 shelters in 3 months. We have all the local resources, but need your help to get there!
You are also welcome to come to Nepal and help us build the shelters! Reach out to risenepal72@gmail.com for more information on volunteering with us.
We are in Nepal supporting Rise Nepal to be safe, effective and impactful disaster responders. 60% of Nepal's population under the age of 30; they are intelligent, empathetic young leaders passionate to build a better country. We are here humbly supporting them to be real leaders now and right throughout the recovery.
Byond NZ helps people affected by earthquakes, floods, typhoons and other natural disasters. We provide support and assistance in the immediate aftermath and in the longer term, we help people to rebuild their communities and their lives.
We have a formal partnership with Sam Johnson from the Volunteer Army Foundation and assist with expert advice, our experience and together work on joint projects; such as Rise Nepal.
