Robbie Ritchie is 33 years old, a father of two, and a loving husband. BUT he's got a ticking time bomb in his head. Robbie has the largest and most dangerous form of Arterio Venous Malformation in the right frontal parietal lobe of his brain. An AVM of this size, has about 4% risk of hemorrhaging each year - and that is an accumulative risk (so it gets higher every year). So that's 4 x 20 years (he's known of it for that long) = 80% risk of a bleed, if not higher.Prof. Valavanis of the International Neuroscience Institute in Hanover, Germany is confident that he will able to embolise Robbie's AVM successfully.
The downside? The appointment is for the 12th of August 2013!!!
The cost? We need to raise $200,000. Yep, in 6 weeks.
Funds will be paid to a verified bank account of Robbie Ritchie.
