Rochell's Fight Against Cancer

  • The fight continues!

Rochell has been fighting a mighty battle against terminal cancer and has visited Germany twice for alternative treatment that has helped her to still be here today. Over the new year she flew to a Japanese clinic and her next goal is to re-visit the German clinic as the treatment available there has benefited her immensely. She is hoping this will give her even more time with her son Kane, now 12. All help to get her there is very greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all who supported Rochell's quiz night/auction fundraiser last weekend. It was a great success and around $25,000 was raised. Thank you so much to everyone who donated auction and raffle items, those that bought tickets to the event and those that gave their time and effort to put this event together. We all had a great time for a great cause.

Rochell is currently receiving treatment at a cancer clinic in Germany which seems to be going well. She is undergoing hyperthermia treatment which heats the body tissues up to an uncomfortable 45degC to damage and kill cancer cells, daily 3 hour IV infusion and Removab therapy which is a tumour-fighting infusion used when standard therapy is no longer feasible. Rochell will also undertake Dentritic cell therapy which is a newly emerging development in immune therapy in fighting cancer which involves a vaccine made from the cancer patient's blood cells. So we will see how that goes. She will undergo scans on her return home to find out how effective this therapy has been for her. If it proves to be helpful and her tumours have diminished, it means she will more than likely require further treatment in a few months time in order to keep the cancer at bay. As you can imagine, these treatments all cost many thousands but what price can you put on life? Overseas treatment is unfortunately the best chance she has of survival, and for this we are more than ready to do our absolute best to get this for her. Believe me, she is worth it!
