Rochelle is currently on her first break from chemo treatment after completing 8 cycles of Gem/Cis Chemo. Since the last update Rochelle also had to have her stents replaced from metal stents to plastic stents due to ongoing infections. Since this surgery she has been feeling alot better. Her last scans showed that her tumours were stable and there had been some reduction in the ovary, lung and liver tumours which is great news. During her break from chemo rochelle has signed back up to the gym and is enjoying swimming 2-3 times a week. She is working hard on rebuilding her health, welbeing and immune system to prepare for her next course of treatment. Donations received this far have been used to fund "foundation one" genetic testing and stent replacement surgeries. After her next scans scheduled for mid august we will have an idea of what future treatments looks like. Immunotherapy is a likely option which would possibly go alongside chemotherapy also. Donations will continue to fund rochelles future treatments which are not funded here in NZ like immunotherapy. All in all we are preparing and ready to keep fighting this cancer. On a positive note Rochelle is also expecting her first grandchild at the end of August, she is super excited to be a Nanny. Thank you so much for all your amazing support and donations over these past 8months. nga mihi mahana e te iwi x (recent pic is of Rochelle in fiji having a well deserved holiday after being cleared to fly)
Kia ora koutou, April the 1st 2022 marks 4 months since we found out about Rochelles terminal cancer. She is now up to cycle 5 of her paliative chemotherapy and for the most part tolerating chemo well. She has had a couple of set backs here but generally the chemo is working and she has had some reduction in lesions and mass size. Genetic & Biomarker testing has been done and we hope to have some results in the coming weeks. We are extremely grateful for your amazing love, support and koha. nga manaakitanga katoa
