Boccia NZ promotes and supports the sport of boccia amongst all people in Aotearoa, specifically those living with a physical impairment.
Nationwide
Support two young NZ boccia athletes on their journey to reaching the Paralympic Games.
The first stop in this journey is the 2023 World Boccia Asia-Oceania Regional Championships being held in Hong Kong in May.
About the athletes:
Alisha Mill is an 18-year old Canterbury athlete living with a physical impairment called Muscular Dystrophy. This Regional Championships will be Alisha's first international competition and she will compete in the Individual BC4 Female competition.
“When I discovered Boccia, it made me feel like I belonged. It gave me a sense of identity knowing I was able to compete in a sport and set goals to be the best I can be”.
Troy Robertson is a 23-year old Northland athlete living with a physical impairment called Cerebral Palsy . Originally from Waikato, Troy is returning to international competition following a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Troy will compete in the Individual BC3 Male competition.
These athletes do not receive any external financial support and their national and international travel is self-funded. We understand Aotearoa is in the midst of a tough economic climate and are extremely grateful for your generous support.
"TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH BOCCIA"
