JR Prospero selected for NZ U19 Junior Mens Volleyball Squad

Hailing from Nelson Boys and Auckland Grammar, Romel 'JR' Prospero has been selected to represent the NZ U19 Mens Volleyball team to play in the Australian Junior Volleyball Champs in Sydney and Australian Institute of Sport at Canberra from July 4th-15th 2022.
Given that Volleyball NZ is player-funded, all expenses will be shouldered by the player. This is extremely challenging especially for tertiary student-athletes like JR.
To not spare such an amazing opportunity that could open many more possibilities, a kind donation of any amount (go for gold ;-) ) will go a long way. We believe that such opportunity shouldn't be spared by a talented player due to financial barriers.
More about the athlete:
1. NZ Interprovincial Champs: JR will represent the U21 Harbour Region for 2022 IPC.
2. Club: He is currently committed to Harbour Dragons VC and plays for the Waray Filipino Volleyball Team as an Outside Hitter.
3. Tertiary: JR also trains with the University of Auckland (UoA) Mens' team as a first-year.
Many would know him for his athleticism, energy, high-quality A passes, in the court and great mental fortitude. He plays a vital role in the team and such international experience will benefit his growth as a player, the other representatives and Volleyball New Zealand as a whole.

Use of funds
Funds will go through the fees needed for this trip under Volleyball New Zealand. This includes flight and transport, accommodation, registration fees for AUS tournaments, food, coaches and managers, sports gear and many more miscellanious.

POST IPC UPDATE 7 June 2022
JR had a wonderful stint at the New Zealands' Interprovincial Champs 2022 held in Wellington. It's been a wild ride starting off with JR being called to move from the Harbour u21 team to the dominating North Harbour Mens Open Grade to play as the first libero just a couple of days prior to the start of the tournament. Despite the limited training time he has had with them, the support he received from his experienced teammates was overwhelming where JR played phenomenally and helped secure the gold. We thank you so much for your support and we will definitely post another highlights reel in hopes to promote the fundraiser page!
