    Happy Birthday, and congratulations, to Ron Towner for achieving the extraordinary. Ron turned 90 on Friday, 22nd July and on that same day, thanks to the generous support of people across Canterbury (and some much further afield), his fundraising flew past the $90k mark. All totaled, Ron raised a magnificent $91,055 for Canterbury's Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service through a combination of crowd-funding, bucket collections and campaign fundraising. Happy Birthday Ron, and from all of our team and the wider community, thank you for your tireless efforts. We are proud to display the 'Airman Ron' name on the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in recognition of what you have achieved.

  • 'Airman Ron's' Milestone

    For 'Airman Ron' July 2022 will see him reach a milestone birthday. Ron turns 90 years old later this month, and we would love for you to help him celebrate another milestone, by raising $90,000 for Canterbury's Westpac Rescue Helicopter. With Ron's Givealittle page and other campaign fundraising happening behind the scenes, he is over the $80k mark, so help him bring it home before the end of this month.     As of this week, Ron's fundraising has reached almost $74k through a combination of his Givealittle page and campaign activity in the community. With just on 4 weeks to go, we're confident of reaching the $90k target....and hopefully even going above and beyond.   • Airman Ron's Campaign Lands

    Hi all - time for an update on 'Airman Ron's' campaign, which landed in letterboxes across Canterbury earlier this week. Alongside Ron's personal fundraising page, the Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust has also shared Ron's story for Chopper Appeal 2022. Already this week we have seen a little under $10,000 added to the overall fundraising total, meaning we're a third of the way towards Ron's goal of $90k with roughly 8 weeks of campaigning still to go. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Ron so far - you may even have seen him collecting at Merivale Mall earlier in the month.
