I want to keep my Mums love for Christmas alive by doing a gift drop to underprivileged families this Christmas.
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
This year Christmas will not be the same without Rosie so I wanted to do something to keep her memory alive at Christmas and came up with an idea.
Rosie's Christmas Gift Drop!
Some of you may not know this, but Rosie came from a pretty poor background, there was always food in the house, but times were tough, the family didn't have much and didn't get a lot for Christmas. One of her favourite Christmas memories from childhood was when there was a random knock on the door on Christmas day and someone had left a box for them absolutely full of Christmas toys and food!
So naturally as an adult she wanted to give as much as she could, since it was something she never got as a child.
Her favourite time of the year has always been Christmas. She LOVED giving gifts and always went over the top to spread the love and joy to her kids, friends and family. We were very lucky as kids growing up with Rosie as our Mum.
So I want to keep my Mums love for Christmas alive by doing a gift drop to underprivileged families this Christmas.
If you know us personally you can donate good quality toys and gifts or you can donate any amount, no matter how small for me to buy goodies for the donations.
If you are giving food donations, my only request is that the food is Christmasy to bring smiles to peoples faces on Christmas (no spam in a can style stuff haha).
I will be collaborating with community FB groups to find families in need and will be in charge or organising and distributing the gifts. You can contact me on kylieann.kearney@gmail.com to nominate a family or their own family to receive a surprise gift drop on their doorstep on Christmas day. (If we don't get anyone apply, I will be heading out Christmas morning to spread joy in my mothers name to random doorsteps around the neighbourhoods of Palmerston North.)
Thank you in advance. I know Mum would be so happy to know that she will still be putting smiles on peoples faces this Christmas.
