Auckland
The Rotary Club For Global Action (RCGA) is being joined by people from all over the world, for the month of August as they get up and "Move The Path To Accessibility". Our main goals are to raise funds and awareness of the challenges the disabled community face when trying to attend events and find inclusion in the wider community. RCGA is Challenging EVERYONE to move 100kms through the month of August. You can roll, walk, run, dance, swim, row or move in anyway to take on this challenge. Help RCGA as we support PHAB. PHAB is the sector leader for youth with disabilities in the wider disability community. It is firmly established as a key provider of social programs aimed at reducing social isolation for people with disabilities. One of our biggest barriers to our activities is the lack of availability for transport.
We aim to promote and encourage people of all abilities to come together on equal terms: to achieve complete inclusion within the wider community.
We believe in making more of life together and coming together to have fun in a safe and inclusive environment where everyone is welcome.
PHAB is an organisation that 'walks the talk' we are inclusive, promote and support self reliance that enhances the social opportunities for the disabled community. Our members are empowered to choose what they would like to do within the Social Groups, and given the opportunity to develop skills and confidence necessary to become a more valued, social, and inclusive member of society.
Drawing on over 40 years of experience in New Zealand and other countries around the world, PHAB is a place where you can meet new people, develop new skills, make long lasting friendships, and gain independence in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
Funds raised from this campaign will be used to provide transport to our disabled community. PHAB's events allow us to combat the loneliness and isolation that comes with being left out. Transport should not be a barrier to inclusion and accessibility.
